RIDING AT THE WATER'S EDGE:

If you've never ridden amongst sand dunes or experienced horse riding on the beach and heard the crashing waves from the saddle, this route will be a fantastic experience for you. We box up the horses and drive to Braunton Burrows which is approximately an hour or so from Longham Farm. Once we have parked up we pick up the bridle path and carefully ride over the dramatic dunescape with its wild animals and exotic flowers, to reach Saunton Sands. Here, an open panoramic beach stretches two miles up the coast and the expansive Atlantic Ocean unfolds before you.

Riding on the beach offers a unique and exhilarating ride, which our horses love as much as the guests do. In fact beach riding in the UK is how many racing trainers exercise their horses, and how legends like Red Rum became Grand National winners.

Please note that due to the length of the journey and the need to take the car (carrying our picnic lunch) as well as the lorry we do have to make a diesel surcharge for this trip of £40.
